The Currie 44 Hybrid front axle assembly for Jeep TJ/LJ vehicles features additional width and larger JK inner knuckles for superior strength and tire clearance in a lightweight package. The Currie 44 is designed for heavy off-road with up to 37-inch tall tires and features a significantly stronger center casting, axle tubes, JK forged knuckles, and chromoly axles, the Currie 44 is ready for off-road adventure.

Currie 44 High-Pinion

The heavy-duty nodular iron center section features 14 lbs of reinforcement over a stock 44 with thicker walls and webbing to deliver superior strength and rigidity

Axle Tubes

Large 3 in. diameter x .5 in. wall axle tubes (left) are more than 2.5 times stronger than the stock tubes (right)

Forged Inner Knuckles

Currie heavy-duty forged JK inner knuckles (right) are massively stronger than the stock knuckles (left) and are designed for severe off-road use with up to 37” tall tires

Geometry

Front axle steering geometry is optimized for lifted vehicles and large tires, featuring 5° of caster and 5° of pinion angle

Performance Axles

Currie Performance 4340 chromoly axles provide superior end-to-end strength over OEM carbon steel axles. Black oxide coating helps protect from surface corrosion for improved durability

TJ Brackets

Currie TJ brackets provide increased strength and maintain compatibility with stock and aftermarket suspension components

Control Arm Mounts

Lower control arm mounts are one-piece construction with integrated skid plates to help fend off bracket-seeking rocks

Pinion Yoke

The included 1310 pinion yoke allows the factory driveshaft to be used without modification

Differential Cover

Rock-proof Currie nodular iron front cover protects expensive internals and adds structural support to the housing's face flange

Powder Coat Finish

UV Stable Satin black powder coat finish adds long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion to keep your Currie 44 looking its best

 

 

Notes

Outer Knuckle Assemblies: Requires JK outer knuckle assemblies (not included), including steering knuckles, unit bearings, disk brake calipers, and rotors

Steering Assemblies: Requires a stock width JK tie rod, a conversion drag link, and or conversion pitman arm (not included)

Wheel Bolt Pattern: Requires wheels with a 5 x 5 wheel bolt pattern (stock JK)

Differential Carriers: The center section is designed to use standard Dana 44 carriers (ARB RD117, Eaton Elocker 19977-010, or Eaton Truetrac 913A591)

Overall Width: Axle width is 65.375 inches (stock JK width) between wheel mounting surfaces

Tire Size: A maximum 37-inch tire size is recommended due to the inherent limitations of the stock brakes, wheel bearings, and axle u-joints
